Day 61 – Mangonui to Kerikeri
Last night we stayed at Kahoe Farmstay Backpacker and it was great. Stephano cooked us a mean pizza and there was a great group of people from all over the world staying there. It was another beautiful day when we started and I was feeling good in the legs, but my mind was a bit tired. I’m so excited about getting to the end that it is taking ages, I think that you get this on any trip you do. It was a day of hills as well which I don’t mind at all now, but today I wasn’t ready for this many, SO I pulled out the … Continue reading

Day 60 – Awanui to Mangonui
We stayed here at the Norfolk Motel which is in Awanui. I came here back in July and met Kim, she was great and put me up then and then again last night. Really nice place and Kim is super friendly – Thank you so so much for helping us out Kim. We started today right on the edge of 90 mile beach and it was a super sunny day. After yesterday’s nude run I noticed I had some tan lines so started working on the upper arms. I didn’t sleep super well as I was excited getting all the photos from the World Stroke Day run, who … Continue reading

Day 59 – Te Kao to Awanui with a naked beach run
We stayed at Te Kao Lodge with Irene for the last 2 days, great little place to chill out right at the top of NZ. Thank you so much for helping us out. We had another beautiful day and I was feeling great so off we set heading south towards Awanui. First chat was with Tony who had seen us coming up the road and he came out and gave us a donation. Cheers bro. Then as I was having a rest Rachel came along, she was heading towards the Cape to start a ride that would take her the length of the country. She was in high … Continue reading

Day 58 – Cape Reinga to Te Kao
We were up early and driving to Cape Rienga, we wanted to get a bit of filming done before we set off. As we got out of the Guardian (van ) 2 young pretty Dutch ladies came up and asked us to help change their flat tyre. So I had to get the guns out and help out -almost a bit embarrassing as the nuts on the wheel were damn tight and I struggled for a start but got them in the end. Then Claire and Eveline decided they would come and run with me, I was stoked. Rick and I set off down to the Light house and … Continue reading
